Marks and Spencer sustainability
New commitments from Marks and Spencer include a plan to redevelop 36,000 product lines so that they each have at least one sustainable or ethical quality.
They say they'll do half of them by 2015, so that's an average of 3,600 a year. Probably about the number that get redeveloped in a year anyway. So it's a smart strategy, as, done wisely, it won't cost any more in development time, and the ethical or sustainable element can be incorporated as part of what would have been done anyway.
